The Lancaster 086 is the 86th one-of-a-kind piece in Vortic's "Lancaster" line of the American Artisan Series. This watch contains the original movement (timepiece), dial (face), and hands from a vintage (1880’s – 1950’s) pocket watch. The American Artisan Series is a line of fully American Made wristwatches powered by restored, U.S. made pocket watch movements.
What makes the Lancaster 086 Unique: This fantastic Hamilton watch gave us the opportunity to showcase our sandblasted titanium case. The soft but polished case perfectly emphasizes the striking dark numerals and bold hands of the dial. It's all about the small details with this double-sunk dial, ornate central design, and small minute indicators around the outside of the numerals. Silver-plated crown and hardware with a stone strap give this watch a clean look without distracting from its flashy dial. The movement is run by 17 screw set jewels built into a large ¾ build plate, which has been intricately machined with bold horizontal lines and adorned with more silver hardware. This watch was originally manufactured in 1934 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. In the same year, John Dillenger, a notorious bank robber, was at large. He broke out of jail in Indiana using a wooden pistol and quickly robbed another bank with his gang a week later in Iowa.
